What is Spontaneity Improv Company?

Located in Halifax/ Kjipuktuk, Nova Scotia.

 

Spontaneity Improv is an improvisational theatre school dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for both adults and youth through high-quality improv education and performance experience. We offer a supportive environment where students can grow, build confidence, and develop their skills at every stage of their artistic journey. Our program features clearly defined class levels, allowing students to progress and advance within the company. Spontaneity is committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all participants.

Students enrolled in our classes engage in a wide range of improv and theatre-based exercises designed to strengthen creativity, collaboration, and performance skills. Participants explore both short-form and long-form improvisation, as well as the exciting integration of multiple performance mediums within our classes and productions.

Improvised theatre is a very intimate art form where you must support your fellow teammates and take risks on stage. Not knowing what’s going to happen next is the fun part, but it can also be nerve-wracking. At Spontaneity Improv Company we strive to create a safe space where folks can feel comfortable to push themselves as much or a little as they would like.
